ImageSnag Privacy Policy
LAST UPDATED 14 JULY 2026
ImageSnag (Bulk Image Downloader) is a Chrome extension by Francisco Macedo, part of Browserbelt. This policy explains, in plain terms, exactly what data the extension handles and where it goes. It is specific to ImageSnag — each Browserbelt tool has its own policy.
01Single purpose
ImageSnag downloads the images on the page you're viewing as a single ZIP file.
02What data is sent, and where
- ImageSnag sends no data to Google, to Browserbelt, or to any analytics service. It has no AI and no account.
- To build your ZIP, it fetches image files directly from the servers that host the images on the page you're on — the same servers your browser already loaded them from. Those images are zipped locally in your browser and saved to your Downloads folder. Nothing is uploaded anywhere.
03Who receives data
The extension sends no data to us or to any AI service. The only servers it contacts are:
- The image-hosting servers of the page you're on — contacted only to retrieve image bytes, exactly as your browser already does when it displays them.
04What stays on your device
Only your preferences are stored locally in your browser. There is no history, no API key, and no account token.
05Chrome permissions, and why
- sidePanel — Opens the ImageSnag panel next to the page.
- activeTab — Reads the current tab only after you click Start.
- scripting — Injects the auto-scroll script that finds every image.
- storage — Saves your preferences locally on your device.
- downloads — Saves the finished ZIP to your Downloads folder.
- host access (all sites) — Fetches image bytes from whatever page you run it on, only when you click Start.
06Data categories
Under the Chrome Web Store’s disclosure categories, ImageSnag handles:
- None — ImageSnag does not collect or transmit user data.
07Consent before the first send
ImageSnag works entirely on your device and downloads files locally. There is no AI call and no account, so there is nothing to consent to before use.
08Remote code
ImageSnag contains no remote code. It never downloads and executes scripts; it only calls documented data APIs over HTTPS.
09Limited Use
CHROME WEB STORE LIMITED USE
This extension’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not sell your data, use it for advertising or creditworthiness, or transfer it to anyone except to provide or improve this single feature. No human reads your content except as strictly necessary for security or to comply with the law.
10Data retention & your rights
We store nothing about you at all — there is no account and no server-side record of your activity. Uninstalling the extension removes its local data from your device.
11Children
ImageSnag is a general-purpose developer/productivity tool and is not directed at children under 13.
