HOW IT WORKS

Three clicks, start to finish.

01 — EXTRACT

Grab the page

Click Extract page. MarkGrab scrolls the whole page to trigger lazy-loaded content, then cleans the HTML down to just the article — and shows you the size, token estimate, and cost before you spend anything.

02 — CONVERT

AI does the cleanup

Pick a model and convert. An actual AI pass turns the cleaned HTML into high-signal Markdown — headings, lists, tables and code intact, boilerplate gone.

03 — PASTE

Straight to your notes or your LLM

Copy the Markdown and paste it into ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, Obsidian, or Notion. Token-efficient by design, so you spend context on content, not markup.

WHY THIS ONE

Built to beat the incumbents where they’re weak.

AI cleanup, not regex

MarkDownload, MarkSnip and Copy as Markdown are DOM converters that faithfully copy the mess. MarkGrab uses a real AI pass to strip clutter and keep only what matters.

Built for LLM context

Output is token-efficient Markdown tuned for feeding pages into ChatGPT, Claude, and Cursor — no wasted tokens on nav and footer soup.

Cost preview before you convert

See the cleaned size, a token estimate, and a cost estimate up front. Preview the cleaned HTML too. No surprises on your bill.

Handles long, lazy pages

Auto-scrolls to load the whole article before extracting, with a progress indicator — so infinite-scroll and lazy-loaded pages come through complete.

FAQ

Questions, answered plainly.

Why not just use a free Markdown clipper?

The established clippers are Turndown/regex converters aimed at note archival — they copy the page's clutter along with its content. The newer 'AI' clippers are mostly the same pipeline with a label. MarkGrab runs a genuine AI cleanup pass tuned for clean, token-efficient output.

What gets sent to the AI?

Only the cleaned HTML text of the page you're on, plus the conversion prompt. In BYOK mode it goes straight to Google's Gemini with your key; in subscription mode it goes through our proxy to Gemini. No screenshots, no other pages.

Do I have to pay?

No. This tool is free forever with your own Google Gemini API key — paste it once and your data goes straight from your browser to Google, never through us. If you'd rather skip the setup, one Browserbelt subscription ($5/mo or $39/yr) turns on instant AI here and in every other Browserbelt tool, with no key to manage.

Can I save an .md file?

MarkGrab copies clean Markdown to your clipboard, ready to paste anywhere. It doesn't write files to disk — one less permission to trust us with.
